Thrown Away Paintings
Illustrations inspired by my film, Thrown Away Child.
I worked on cardboard to represent the disposable nature of being a child in care.
Whilst making the film Thrown Away Child which was a documentary about my early life and being a foster carer I made a little collection of paintings that I felt resonated with my feelings about my book Thrown Away Child and the film.
Sometimes children are treated as if they do not matter, and this is how we can feel. I could feel that I didn’t matter, that I wasn’t wanted, it was certainly said often enough but I somehow didn’t believe it.
